Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Tricity on 11th September 2015. He will inaugurate the International Airport based in Mohali. The name of the airport is yet to be decided as there is a clash in the Punjab and Haryana Governments, Haryana Govt. wants the name to be just ‘Chandigarh’ but Punjab Govt. wants the name to be ‘Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Mohali’. Approximately 2500 people from Tricity and near by areas had to travel to Delhi on everyday basis to catch a flight, an International Airport will now safe a lot time and resources of the nation. The International Airport along with it’s better connectivity via Ring Road is highly likely to provide a boost to the overall economy of Zirakpur, Panchkula, Mohali and Chandigarh.

Besides the airport, PM will also take part in the convocation ceremony at PGI Chandigarh.

After inaugurating the Airport, PM will address a joint rally organized by the BJP units of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. BJP will also organize a week long Swachh Chandigarh programme. The party will clean the city with the help of residents and Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers.
